Barrister set for Southampton takeover

A consortium headed by Southampton fan and barrister Jonathon Fulthorpe is set to launch a bid for the club, BBC Radio Solent understands.

Fulthorpe teamed up with local businessman John Cousins to work on a proposal for several months.

He has said that he and Cousins are committed fans of the club. It is believed they have held several meetings with Saints club officials and have significant funds to aid the club.

In February, the club revealed they had held preliminary talks with "certain third parties".
