As parts of London and other major cities came under attack by rioters, a left-wing blog posted tips for those of a mind for wilful destruction. The blog including the number of a law firm to call if arrested. The numbers for solicitors Bindmans, Birnberg Peirce & Partners and Hodge Jones & Allen were posted on Twitter by extreme left wing group The Third Estate. The blog named the solicitors as the go-to firms for those caught up in the looting. The blog also offered irresponsible advice on clothing, advising people to “Mask up. Properly, not just a hood. and call Bindmans solicitors if you get nicked"

Law firms Birnberg Peirce & Partners is known for its work on police claims, while Bindmans and Hodge Jones & Allen both represented protestors who were arrested after occupying the Fortnum & Mason department store in March.
